Coronavirus Response: May 18

Daily Update

Many gyms in Texas are reopening today, and other states are following suit. Early data from gyms that have reopened shows a greater than 75 percent return rate for clients who remained engaged while the gym was closed. Many report the return of members who cancelled before or during the shutdown.

But it’s not over: Some clients prefer to receive online coaching, extra cleaning means a lot of extra work, and some coaches aren’t ready to return yet.

What’s the best thing you can do right now? Communicate. Tell your staff and your clients your rules, your plans and why they can be optimistic for the future. Then tell them again. You’ll get tired of hearing it before they do.

Today’s Tactic

This week, Chris Cooper will give you daily writing prompts. Use them to create content. You can write a blog post or film a video. Then share the link on your amplifiers (social media). Remember: Your number one goal on social media is to get people off social media and onto your website.

Two-Brain clients: Download your step-by-step social media playbook from the Growth ToolKit: Audience Building, Milestone 2.

Today’s Prompt—Imagine a client texts you in the street: “I’m not sure I want to come back to the gym yet. What should I do when you reopen?”
